The saju library — Korean Four Pillars in plain English
Sajucheop library · 24 articles · 10 Day Masters · 60 Day Pillars · 100 pairings
Saju reads a birth date as eight characters and the relationships between them. This library explains how, without the jargon. Start with what saju is, find your nature among the ten Day Masters below, or enter your birth date and read your own chart alongside.
Start here: saju basics
What saju is, how it differs from Chinese BaZi, how to read the eight characters, and why the saju year starts in February.
Reading your chart
The tools a reader actually uses: the Ten Gods, hidden stems, ten-year luck pillars, Day Master strength and the useful god.
Saju in Korean life
Where saju shows up in Korea today, from couples checking their gunghap to saju cafés in Seoul, and how it sits beside MBTI.
Special stars (sinsal)
The named stars a Korean reader checks after the Ten Gods — Nobleman, Traveling Horse, Flower Canopy, Yang Blade, White Tiger, Kui Gang, Void and Wonjin — with the rule tables to find them.
The ten Day Masters
Your chart has eight characters and only one of them is you: the Day Master, the sky character of your birth day. There are ten. Each is a nature — a tree, a sun, a mountain, the dew — and each reads the world differently. How the ten are built →
Each article describes the pure nature first, then how it behaves in love and at work, who it combines with (합) and clashes with (충), and how the reading shifts when the Day Master is strongly or weakly supported by the rest of the chart. Treat it as a mirror, not a verdict — the chart describes weather, and what you do in it has always been yours.
Go one level deeper
Your Day Master sits on one of twelve branches, and that seat changes everything. The 60 Day Pillars — Jia Zi to Gui Hai — read each combination: hidden stems, spouse seat, twelve-stage, and the pillars you match best with. The Day Master compatibility table covers all 100 pairings.
