Born in January or early February 1977?
The 1977 Snake year began at Chinese New Year on Feb 18, 1977. If you were born from January 1 to Feb 17, 1977, your sign is the Fire Dragon of 1976. The year ended on Feb 6, 1978, so birthdays in early 1978 up to that date still count as Snakes.
The Korean saju year starts at Ipchun
In Korean saju (the Four Pillars), the year pillar changes at Ipchun, the start of spring — Feb 4, 1977 at about 07:29 Korea time — not at Lunar New Year. A birthday from Feb 4 to Feb 17, 1977 is already 丁巳 (Fire Snake) in a saju chart but still a Dragon by Lunar New Year. Why saju starts the year at Ipchun →
The Fire Snake personality
The Fire Snake is charismatic and ambitious, energetic in pursuit and quick to see through people. Both the year stem and the Snake’s own branch are Fire, so the Fire character is doubled this year. Fire brings warmth, drive and visibility.
Snakes say little and notice everything. Their judgment is usually right, and they seldom show their whole hand. Strengths: sharp analysis; the patience to prepare properly; composure and quiet charisma. Watch for: suspicion; holding on to hurt for a long time; secrecy that others misread.
